How it works

Three steps, no experience needed

If you can use your phone and do everyday chores, you can do this.

01

Record or upload

Film an everyday task from your point of view, 5 to 30 seconds. Record in the browser or upload a clip you already have.

02

We review it

Every clip is checked by a human. Clear, complete footage of a real task gets approved.

03

You get paid

Approved clips are paid in USDG on Ethereum, sent straight to your wallet. No minimum, no payout cycle.

Record your first clip

Track everything

See every clip you have sent, its review status and what it paid, any time.

Reviewed by a person

No black box. A human watches your clip and tells you why if it is not accepted.

Paid on chain

Every payment is a real transaction you can look up yourself on Etherscan.

The technical bit

What your clips actually train

Robots learn manipulation largely by watching people do things. Most of the training data that exists today was captured in labs: clean benches, even lighting, one object at a time. Real kitchens and garages are none of those things, and that gap is exactly where robots still fail.

First person point of view
A camera near your eyeline sees roughly what a robot sees from its own head. Footage shot from across the room does not transfer nearly as well.
Whole tasks, start to finish
The useful signal is the full sequence: approach, grasp, adjust, release. A clip that cuts halfway through teaches the model very little.
Messy beats perfect
Cluttered counters, awkward angles, poor light. That variety is the whole point. A model trained only on tidy scenes breaks the moment it meets a real one.
Mistakes are worth keeping
Dropping something and picking it back up is genuinely valuable. Recovering from a slip is one of the harder things for a robot to learn, and it is rare in clean datasets.

Frequently asked questions

How does it work?

Connect a wallet or sign in with your email, then record a short clip of an everyday task from your point of view. You can also upload a video you already have. Every clip is reviewed by hand, and approved clips are paid in USDG. Longer clips pay more. Joining is free.

Start recording

What should I record?

Real everyday tasks, filmed start to finish. For example:

  • Home maintenance: small repairs, assembling furniture, hanging things
  • Outdoor and yard: raking, weeding, sweeping, watering plants
  • Tidying and cleaning: a room, a bathroom, vacuuming, dusting
  • Pets and personal care: feeding, grooming, walking your dog on private property only
  • Car care: washing the car, cleaning the interior, checking the tires
  • Organising and sorting: shelves, drawers, recycling, sorting the mail
How much does it pay?

Longer clips pay more. You see the exact amount for your clip before you post it.

Is it free to join?

Yes. Joining is free and you never pay anything. You only need a phone and a wallet address to receive payment.

Why does Appy Robotics pay for recordings?

Robots learn by watching real people do real tasks. We pay contributors for the real-world footage that makes that training possible.

When do I get paid?

Once a clip is approved, the payment is sent to your wallet as USDG on Ethereum. You can follow the transaction on Etherscan from your submissions list.

What if my clip is rejected?

Rejected clips are not paid, but nothing stops you recording another. The usual reasons are footage that is too dark, too shaky, or does not show a complete task.

What do I need?

A phone with a working camera and a wallet address. If you do not have a wallet, sign in with your email and one is created for you automatically.
